Modestep – Show Me A Sign

Featuring cousin Suan-Li Ong, you’d spot her right away in this one. So nice! I love this music video.

Introducing Melbourne to my Parents

My priorities are changing. There is need to juggle between work, the hubs, household, pole-dancing, friends and now parents in town for a few weeks. These three weeks I have been anticipating for months now since I last saw them in January have arrived. There’s nothing like home when you have your loved ones with you. Home is Melbourne because my sweet parents are in town.

I had put up 16 post-it notes on my glass cupboard listing their itinerary. It involves something like this:

“Lunch at La Camera, Southgate. CBD shopping. Kanga steak.”

This actually translates to – “Wake up when Jojo returns from gym training. Tram into the city, stop at Flinders Station. Meet Kim at Fed Square, walk to La Camera at Southgate for a $10 pasta meal that comes with a glass of wine. Take photos of food and the river. Then, go shopping in the city, must remember to go to Max Stern & Co. to look at stamps then Degraves St for coffee. Wait at Kim’s office entrance at 6pm. Tram home together, relax and play with Chutney the bengal cat while Kim cooks kanga steak and salad. Sleep early Aussie time because the cyclist has to sleep early by 10.30pm (which is 8.30pm Malaysian time!).”

Seriously, I sometimes forget how savvy my parents are especially Superdad when it comes to travelling. He is the ultimate planner. He knows where he is, what to do, what to carry, what to look out for and where to go and can shop forever. Where do you find a 65-year old man who would refuse to leave a shopping mall after walking 8 hours non-stop? Needless to say, mum is a champion when it comes to walking non-stop. She could be Midvalley Megamall’s shopping ambassador. In fact, a few of my blog readers have approached my parents to say hello! “Are you Kim’s mum / dad?”

Mum is not quite a fan of Western food but found herself enjoying my kangaroo steak meal and lasagne (not to upset me maybe? hmmm….).
Best hubby in the world.
I had so much to share with my parents. Now all the photos I had taken before, my parents are in similar setting. They went to watch Josiah train today at the velodrome while I was at work.
I know I should be taking leave, off work, but for some reason, so many project deadlines these days and I can’t get away from work, I wouldn’t even try. It’s quite a bit of juggle, but it’s fun.
I could still find the time return from work at 6.30pm, whip up a meal for the four of us in just 20 minutes and go for pole-dancing class with Supermom. Oh yes, like old times when Supermom would watch me dance ballet at Dance Centre, Ipoh.
Then of course, not forgetting the cat I have been competing with. Yes, we were competing for attention from my parents. Guess who won? Harumph!
Ee ow!

Supermom back in the day. She’s gorgeous.

How Not To Get Clucky?

The term “clucky” is an Aussie one, derived from the idea that mother hens go cluck cluck in her control towards her little chicks. To say that someone’s “clucky” it means it’s perhaps time for her to want or desire babies. Maybe this is the case for me, but I know for sure my baby will be a post-London Olympics baby. My baby’s daddy must be around 24/7 watching our baby’s first steps and everything first.

No harm indulging in a little baby shopping for Diana’s newborn baby, absolutely God-sent after her last baby ten years ago! Isn’t it a miracle.

Just look at their teletubbie outfits!

I picked this entire set of blue since it’s a baby boy plus a set of three momo blankies. Baby shopping is really fun!

Baby Matthew Lowe Jr is a month premature but fully-grown, hence out of the incubator.

I was even able to hold the 1-day old (around 2.7 kgs) baby. It was such a lovely feeling I cannot even begin to explain it. I just kept thinking about it!

The mummy and her two other children. Holding this camera is Matthew Lowe Sr. Congratulations! I’m so happy for them. Think I’ll offer some nanny service to cluck cluck around. *grins*
