GradSolutions Is Bigger and Better

Over the past few years, I have posted several blog entries about GradSolutions, the career consultancy in Melbourne that provides assistance to mostly international students on obtaining a job.

According to NineMSN News:

“To be fair to the Treasury, the ABS appears to be underestimating the rate of population growth.Overseas arrivals and departures figures suggest the assumed rate of growth in the working age population should be more than the 1.2 per cent annual rise factored into the bureau’s labour force numbers.

If so, then any other indicators worked out will also be underestimated. But even after making a generous allowance for faster population growth, the rate of employment growth is still clearly undershooting the forecasts by a sizeable margin.

For the unemployment rate, though, the official forecasts are looking likely to prove too pessimistic.”

I guess employment in Australia is not getting any better. How to get the foot in the door?

In those few years I have supported GradSolutions, I have received many emails through my blog, people asking me how to get a permanent residency or a job in Melbourne. I could only offer advice based on the few facts I know or from friends’ experience. Having said that, I’m not the right person to determine what career path a person can go for.

So apparently, through my past blog entries about GradSolutions, several people (especially Malaysians, since my large readership is from Malaysia) have sought consultancy from GradSolutions and have landed themselves in positions they never thought they could obtain in such short period of time. I meet people now and then, and they tell me they’ve read about GradSolutions and have met with them and I’d say, “GradSolutions must be doing something right.”

Due to the high success rate and increasing demand of consultancy needs, GradSolutions have expanded into a bigger and better environment.

1. They have a brand spanking new logo
2. A new location in the exclusive heart of Melbourne at Collins Street
3. National presence in Melbourne, Perth and Sydney
4. New management with new innovative strategy helping candidates find jobs, and a more structured and proven process
5. Improved services with more experienced staff and wider reach in employment market
6. Another difference under the new brand is that they don’t just look after Graduates/Undergraduates but job-seekers of all levels from local and international backgrounds, including experienced job seekers who are looking to move jobs, migrants from overseas with limited or no local work experience etc.

To start the process, contact GradSolutions for a free initial appointment to discuss career situation with the Career Consultant.

Josiah and Keirin Gold at ACC 2012

Josiah won a gold medal in the Keirin event at the Asian Cycling Championships 2012 in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday. I’m beyond happy!

Here’s a full video of the keirin race Josiah won.

Yay! Our Malaysian team did fantastic! Fatehah Mustapa won the Women’s Keirin and Azizulhasni Awang came in second place in Keirin.

The next thing I’d like to ask for would be a medal at the London World Cup 2012. Not too much to ask for, I hope? Will Josiah get me the moon? ;)

R4TK – Run For The Kids

I had my first training Nike run (they have runs 3 times a week) with Amber last Monday. After running for 1k, I was gasping for breath. I realised I’m the somewhat-fit pole dancer who can do all these tricks many people cannot do but cannot run like the majority of people out there. It was demotivating at first, but hopefully I’ll get there and my goal is to complete 5km.

Amber was practically teaching me how to jog, breathe and all the proper technique I required. She probably thought I was going to collapse on the spot.

To make this commitment, I decided to take a pledge to really join the run with Amber as a team. It will also be something we do for charity.

Please support Amber and I by donating to the unfortunate kids in Australia, we’re trying to raise AUD$500 between the both of us:
