I’ve had much problems with the internet (still!). If you’re in Australia, you should not subscribe to iinet. You request for internet service, they answer you in the most polite manner and take no action. Each time you call them, it’s a different person. I’ve now spoken to Yuoram, Amber, Andre, Peter, Tom, Dick and Harry – the customer care assistants. It’s so frustrating. Have you ever waited for more than 40 days to get your internet connected? Well, I am doing that now and I find myself waiting for another two more days each time, to get a feedback from iinet and a problem still occurs, like my phone line not detected or something.
I’m here online because I managed to tap into the free wifi available from the cafe nearby. My access is limited and it takes me half an hour to load four photos up on my blog. I am limited to Twitter, facebook profile status updates and comments, Skype, e-mail and nothing more than that.
I have so much to update you on my life here in Melbourne. I realised I really haven’t been sharing much. I have tons of photos to show you besides cooking, really!
But yet, I still want to share something, so here goes:
Braces-Friendly Cheesy Omelette
Rich with lots of cheese. Pan-fried with spinach, mushrooms, proscuitto, pesto and a dash of pepper and salt mixed into the omelette. Yummy. Fattening, but I love it!
Satay Minced Pork with Cucumber
This one is quite easy, but to make it tasty, I had to marinade the minced pork in advance. The usual – salt, pepper, soy sauce, seasonings. Rather unusual, I added anchovies on my rice and had sips of apply juice.
Variety Pasta Salad
Then, to save money while I’m studying, I don’t buy food outside during lunch breaks. I make my own pasta for school each time. I just love pasta salad. You can almost add anything into the pasta (preferably spiral if you want to serve cold with mayonnaise). Pasta is so diversified. Everything seems to work if you taste and mix, taste and mix, taste and mix. Voila!
Fingers crossed for my iinet connection tomorrow (after countless phone calls scolding them). I shall switch to another service provider if I don’t get my PROPER internet by Wednesday. It’s killing me because I haven’t even been doing blog-surfing!
Till then, here’s wishing you a lovely Tuesday! Wait up for more photos soon!
I have new news to share with you. *winkz*

Kim,
No wonder la…
[...] Cooking Overcomes Anger … [...]
Hi Kim, nice food! I’m in Sydney and am also using iinet, so far no complaint, but i know it’s not the best. Good luck and hope to see more updates from you.
we waited 3 months for iinet to get fixed and that also they ended putting us on the wrong plan. We called them everyday and each day they had a story to tell us….:)
Your cheesy omelette looks amazing! Certainly an idea I would try out. But I find it hard to find baby spinach in Malaysia eh?
Hi Kim,
I’ve always fancied the food you cooked. Makes me want to try them out too. Mind posting up the receipe along with the pixs next time? hehe..
cheers!
Hi Kim,
I stumbled upon your blog a couple of months back and have found your writing really interesting.
I’m originally from Malaysia and based in Perth right now. Just realised you went to Curtin around the same time I did.
I’ve heard horror stories about iinet, have you tried Optus? I’ve been on that and its pretty good.
Hi Kim, update more often! u know we miss you right
I can totally understand your anger with iinet. I just managed to get connected with them after more than a month of waiting. Sometimes Australia is so behind, in a lot of ways…
I miss your cooking post! yay to their comeback hehe
Well you could’ve walk to a dick smith outlet and looked for a 3G mobile broadband prepaid. That would’ve be the quickest solution.
Hi I am a Malaysian reader just start reading your blog three weeks ago (:P). U really can cook manz, the food looks good and delicious
Hi Kim
Such a good wifey you are
I love ballet too.
Sad to hear” raise the red lantern ” are not performing in KL. But i will carry the hope to watch this
I want to pick up my ballet too. Any good ballet school you can recomment me in KL? I think good teacher is important, else we gonna have big and ugly legs. =P
Nor: Precisely. Argh.
Th_C: Iinet is good when it’s properly connected. I have no complaints now, but I did when it wasn’t connected and I needed to connect it. Went through 20 customer service personnels throghout 2 mths.
Roopi: I hear ya! Totally!
Iamthewitch: Yes, it tastes so yummy and really rare in Msia, I don’t find it there at all.
Alicia: Will do that next time
Stay tuned.
Kristine: Small world, oh I miss Perth! I will consider Optus next time
in case iinet fails me AGAIN.
Kadjone: Thanks..
Junkgirl: Oh dear. So it is true.
Pinky: Yippie I’m back.
Noname: I wanted to do that but considered the extra laptop (Josiah’s), so we thought a proper connection would be good.
Cher Wee: Do stay tuned.. thanks!
Lind: Will update more on ballet shows when I get the chance. There are lots in Melbourne. The culture is only still growing in Malaysia. In KL, sad to say hardly any adult ballet around (if you’re over 16 looking to start or continue). I seriously don’t know of any. When I stopped for 3 yrs (when I was 21), I went into Elementary class and they were all teenagers, I felt so old!
Timothy: You keep spamming me with baseless comments, of course I have to keep deleting them. Please stay put in Madrid, Spain and stop bothering Josiah and I.
