Just a quick one, I’m so excited to share with you the winners of Pole Divas Unleashed 2010 at Room 680 on Glenferie Road, Hawthorn.
Beginner: Amy Handley
Intermediate: Megan Blyszak
Advanced: Saffron Gallagher
Doubles: Emily Fewkes & Danielle Smith
People’s Choice Winner: Rebecca Tsang
Absolutely amazing performances, really well-deserved winners!
Me? I’m so glad I did it. In terms of scoring, apparently I came in 3rd out of 5 finalists in my Intermediate category. Definitely a start, out of 17 initially auditioned. How I’m feeling right now? Relieved and absolutely tired. Would have been a plus if I made it to the end, but I managed my expectations. Absolutely nerve-wrecking behind-the-scenes because this was my first ever pole dance competition and it incorporates acrobatic + gymnastic + ballet moves. Now, moving forward (the strategist in me prevails), I have to build up my strength for next year’s amateur competition. If I’m up to mark by then, I will enter a larger competition later. I want to be in the international arena someday. A little ambitious, but hey… there’s always a chance somewhere, there’s always hope, there’s always motivation. The past two weeks have just been zap-zap-zap for me. Everything came up at the same time. This is Red Bull talking by the way, and also the-very-relieved-Pole-Diva.
Josiah, I did it for you too (apart from me teehee) !!! Don’t say I’m weak okay. I’m athletic too! ;) And next time when I enter a competition, you better be around!
You really should have been there.

This was me during the competition. Only one photo. I’m still not going to put up a video of me dancing. *grins* Thanks Mauricio for the photo! Waiting up on Pole Divas’ official photography. Teehee. Good fun.
Oh you know what’s unusual. I happened to take photos of all those who really won! It’s as if the winners were my prediction. As for the winner of my category, I couldn’t get hold of the winner Megan as she wasn’t around at all when I held my camera. She was a petite, strong and quirky competitor.
Thanks all who have sent me well-wishes from near and afar.
