Myjojo and I have been fans of Nobu Restaurant, the best Japanese Restaurant all over the world (well, except in Malaysia?). The last one we went to was in Melbourne, (click on this entry to compare) it was absolutely delicious. The quality and texture of their sushi is just immaculate. I could dine at Nobu everyday but I’d eat till I go bankrupt.
“The London outpost of Nobu, which opened in 1997, was the first European venture for both the Myriad Restaurant Group and celebrated Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa. The restaurant is located in the stylish Metropolitan hotel on London’s Old Park Lane. During the day, diners are not only enthralled by the food but also by the magnificent views of Hyde Park, while by night, the beautifully illuminated space is one of the city’s hottest dining destinations.
The menu is similar to that of Nobu New York, featuring many of the same signature dishes like Yellowtail with Jalapeno and Black Cod with Miso. The minimalist sleek design has neutral tones, blond wood, and cream leather seating which create a modern yet comfortable environment. The restaurant’s décor and design complement the vibrancy and richness of the food. Nobu London was the first Asian restaurant to receive a Michelin star, and also voted the most popular restaurant in the 2005 London Zagat Survey.”

I got all dressed up for the lovely date with myjojo.
Nobu, London at Metropolitan Hotel. To be honest, I didn’t really prefer this ambience as it was catered for white-collar workers, for business meals and such. Not quite a romantic place, compared to (apparently the other Nobu in town).
Myjojo and I were seated at the bar.
We made friends with the chefs at work and learned some sushi tricks.
Fresh edamame with salt crystals.
Working on the sushi.
Chefs at work.
Miso soup.
Tuna and Avocado.
I tagged myjojo on this salmon sashimi picture on my Facebook.
Soft-shell crab. Yummy.
I forgot the name of this. That’s the problem with me, I should quit the habit of taking picture of food I gobble up too quickly without remember its name. You see, taking pictures of food isn’t a hassle for me as I’m so used to it.
Myjojo and I back at the Sheraton Hotel lobby just down the road of Metropolitan Hotel.
At the Sheraton lounge, waiting for our ice-cream.
